1) BlackBerry 8820 Embraces Enterprise Wi-Fi Trend

RIM moves to fight the iPhone's dominance in the field of Wi-Fi-enabled devices with its BlackBerry 8820.

Although just released in July, the iPhone is already the country's leading Wi-Fi-enabled device, according to analyst firm M:Metrics. Out of 1.9 million U.S. mobile devices with Wi-Fi, M:Metrics' numbers show the 8GB iPhone at the top of the list with 287,198 users.

RIM Nails Wi-Fi with BlackBerry 8820

Review: RIM's BlackBerry 8820 has superior e-mail capabilities, a nice mix of applications and good connectivity options.

While Research In Motion has been a little slow to add wireless LAN capabilities to its smart-phone portfolio, the company's first stab at it—the BlackBerry 8820—really nails the details as a Wi-Fi device. With its superior e-mail capabilities, a good mix of applications and good (but not great) connectivity options, the 8820 is definitely worth a look for companies planning to upgrade their mobile device fleets.
